Data sources and licences

Where FuelFairy’s prices come from, and the terms we use them under.

FuelFairy is independent

FuelFairy is not a government service. It is not affiliated with, or endorsed by, any state or territory government, fuel price scheme or fuel retailer. Prices are supplied by retailers to each scheme and can change at any time, so always check the price at the pump.

How prices reach the app

Every state and territory runs a mandatory fuel price reporting scheme. FuelFairy reads each scheme’s official feed, about every 15 minutes in Queensland and South Australia and about every hour elsewhere. The time under each price shows when the station last set it.

Drivers can also report the price they see at the pump. Those prices are always labelled “Reported at the pump” and are never presented as official scheme data.
